Breakdown

Z Spot out of the I Form Pro 21 personnel package puts a classic spot concept on the right side while stretching the defense vertically on the outside. The X runs a deep vertical route up the left sideline, the Y (TE) releases and breaks up the seam to the corner as the deep outside route on the right, the Z runs a quick flat route settling underneath, and the slot man runs a hitch/curl into the vacated area behind the flat route to complete the spot triangle. This is a classic Cover 3 beater built on the underneath spot triangle (flat, hitch, corner) that punishes zone drops with the flat to curl to corner combination, with the two verticals occupying deep defenders so the primary read progresses from the flat route to the curl/settle route and finally to the corner route on the boundary.
