The fullback leads through the hole to pick up the play side linebacker while the offensive line pulls a guard for an extra blocker, creating a power scheme with a natural crease off tackle. The primary read is the play side hole: the ball carrier presses the line of scrimmage, reads the fullback's lead block and the pulling guard, and picks his lane based on how the defensive end and outside linebacker react to the down blocks.
Defensive Reads
Pre-snap, check the linebacker depth. Stacked linebackers close to the line signal a run blitz that this power scheme is built to handle with its extra puller. Watch the defensive end's alignment off the ball. A wide 9 technique can be sealed easily, but a tight 5 technique can clog the intended hole. Post-snap, key the play side outside linebacker's flow. If he crashes down hard, look to bounce the run outside off the fullback's block. This play struggles against a hard edge blitz or a user-controlled defender crashing the C gap untouched, since the pulling guard needs time to get to his spot. Stacked fronts with an extra safety in the box will limit the effectiveness of this power run, so have a passing counter ready if the defense loads up.

Run this on early downs like 1st and 10 or 2nd and short to keep the defense honest and set up your play-action shots later in the drive.
Check the box count before the snap. If the defense has one fewer defender in the box than you have blockers, this is a green light run.
Use your left stick to aim the hole and let the fullback's lead block develop before committing to a lane, patience is key with power schemes.
