Watch for linebackers cheating to the play side pre-snap, that flow tells you whether outside zone or the X Lookie alert will hit If the defense shows a single high safety with corners playing off, expect the run fit to be tighter and the Lookie alert to be live against soft coverage Man coverage on the X receiver with no underneath help invites the QB to alert quickly, so jump the route with a user linebacker or nickel defender Zone drops from linebackers sitting in shallow hook or curl areas can undercut the X Lookie throw, forcing the QB back to the run Overpursuit from edge defenders crashing down on the stretch action opens the backside cutback, so a disciplined backside DE or OLB is essential to shut down the run

Check the defensive front pre-snap and count the box, if you see seven or more defenders stacked to the play side, alert to the X Lookie instead of handing it off
Use the FB as your primary blocking read, he will seal the edge or lead into the alley and tell you where the cutback lane opens
Mix this with HB Stretch Alert X Smoke and HB Stretch itself so defenses cannot key on the zone action or jump the alert route
Call this on early downs like first and ten or second and short when defenses are still respecting balanced run and pass tendencies
Against aggressive user blitzers flowing hard to the play side, the backside cutback lane will be wide open so patience on the stick is key
