Fk Bubble HB Draw is a play-action draw dressed up with two fake bubble screens to the outside slot receivers, both breaking outward after the shallow fake to sell the perimeter screen look. The offensive line sets up run blocking at the snap while the QB carries out play-action mesh with the HB before handing off on the delayed draw, letting the defense flow to the fake bubbles and open up the interior run lane. This is a run play disguised as a screen concept, designed to bait aggressive user linebackers and defensive backs who jump the bubble fakes, with the primary read being the HB following his blocking up the middle once the second level clears out.
Key the outside linebackers and slot cornerbacks immediately after the snap to see if they crash on the bubble fakes, which is the tell that the draw lane will be open. Watch for user defenders spying the backfield or sitting at the mesh point, since a disciplined defender reading the QB and HB together will blow up the draw before the line can climb. Zone coverages with linebackers keying flow tend to overreact to the bubble action, making them prime targets for this concept. Man coverage teams that send both slot corners deep with their receivers on the fake often leave the alley wide open for the HB. Aggressive nano blitz packages or run blitzes from the interior can beat this play if the defensive line stays home and does not bite on the play-action mesh.
Call this on early downs or in second and short situations where the defense expects a quick pass off the bubble action to bite hard. Watch pre-snap for defenses showing heavy outside contain or corners crashing down on the slot receivers, since that confirms they respect the bubble fake and will vacate the box. Use this after you have already thrown or run actual bubble screens earlier in the game so the defense has film to overreact to the fake motion. Avoid calling this into stacked box looks with linebackers already sitting at the line, since there is no extra gap protection if the run fit is disciplined. Pair this with Bubble Screens and RPO Read Screen in your play sequence so the defense cannot tell the difference between the real screen and the draw fake until the ball is already out.
