Mtn Slot Screen is a quick-hitting screen play out of Shotgun Spread Y-Slot designed to punish aggressive pass rushes and blitz-heavy defenses. The slot receiver runs a quick screen route while the offensive line sets up outside blocking angles to spring him in space, and the outside receivers run vertical or clear-out routes to pull cornerbacks and safeties away from the screen area. The primary read is a pre-snap decision: identify the blitz or edge pressure, then throw the screen quickly to the slot receiver and let his blockers create the alley.

Defensive Reads
