The offensive line executes zone steps and combo blocks at the point of attack, working double teams to the linebacker level while the jet motion man stretches the defense laterally to hold the edge defenders and second level flow. The primary read progression starts with the play side double team and bounces to the backside cutback lane if the frontside gets clogged, so the ball carrier keys the frontside double team block first and reads the backside guard or center for a cutback if flow overcommits.

Defensive Reads

Look for stacked box counts pre-snap with linebackers creeping to the line, this signals a run blitz that inside zone can gash if the offensive line wins its double teams. Check safety depth before the snap, if a safety rotates down into the box pre-snap it usually means the defense is selling run support, so be ready to cut back away from the extra defender.
