Kc Post is a play-action oriented dropback pass out of Shotgun Spread Y-Slot 11 personnel that attacks the deep middle and intermediate zones with a post concept as its foundation. The route combo pairs a deep post from the boundary receiver with underneath crossers and an out or flat route to hold linebackers and flat defenders, creating a natural high low read against zone coverage while also giving you a hard breaking man beater against off coverage. Your primary read progression starts with the post: if the safety bites on the underneath crosser or bails hard to the sideline, throw the post immediately, otherwise work down to the intermediate crosser as your secondary option and check down to the flat or shallow route if both are covered.

Defensive Reads
