Overview

The NFL Live Saints Offense is functionally the same playbook as Saints Offense. The two share all 600 plays and differ by zero sets, so everything you install, practice and audible from one carries over to the other. Pick whichever sheet you like; you are not giving anything up either way. At 600 plays across 8 formations and 42 sets, it is larger than 54% of the game's 64 offensive team playbooks. That gives you a deep menu without the clutter of the biggest books.

The identity is Shotgun first. Shotgun accounts for 429 plays (72%) spread over 25 sets, so most of your snaps come from spread and 11 personnel looks built on quick game concepts: Slant, Hitch, Spot, Drag, Crosser and Flat, with Post shots and dedicated Cover 3 Beater calls layered on top. Behind that sits a real under center and heavy package. Singleback has 60 plays, I Form 39, Pistol 36, Strong I 18 and Goal Line Offense 12, with runs like 26 Duo, FB Dive, Counter and 0 1 Trap plus Play Action and Block and Release tags.

The book also carries a Wildcat set, a formation found in only 15 of the game's 236 playbooks. It adds a short yardage and red zone wrinkle most opponents never have to prepare for. With six personnel groups ranging from 11 down to 23 (0 WR), the NFL Live Saints Offense supports a pass first, rhythm based game plan. You live in Shotgun on standard downs, then shift into heavy 22, 23 and Goal Line looks to punish light boxes and close out drives.

Scheme Fit

The NFL Live Saints Offense wants an accurate, quick release quarterback who can process Shotgun reads, plus shifty slot receivers who win on Slant, Drag and Crosser routes and a receiving back who can handle Flat and Block and Release duties. It also rewards a physical fullback and at least two capable blocking tight ends, because the 22, 23 and Goal Line packages only punish light boxes if your big bodies can move people. Choose it if you are a pass first player who wants a spread base with a legitimate heavy and Wildcat change up, not a ground and pound purist.

Strengths

Shotgun depth is elite: 429 plays across 25 sets gives you multiple ways to run the same Slant, Spot, Drag and Crosser concepts from different alignments, so opponents cannot key a single formation to diagnose your quick game.
Dedicated Cover 3 Beater calls and Post concepts inside the Shotgun sets let you attack the most common user zone shell without burning hot routes, freeing your pre-snap adjustments for protection and motion.
Rare Wildcat access (only 15 of 236 playbooks) gives you a short yardage and red zone look that most opponents have never practiced against, forcing them to guess on direct snap run fits.
Six personnel groups, including 23 (0 WR), 22 and 13, let you sub into genuinely heavy looks from Strong I, I Form and Goal Line Offense, pulling defenders into run personnel before you shift back to 11 personnel Shotgun.

Weaknesses

The 72% Shotgun concentration means opponents who scout your tendencies can sit in nickel and dime, trusting that most of your snaps come from spread alignments and a quick passing base.
Under center depth is modest: Singleback (60), I Form (39) and Strong I (18) combine for barely a fifth of the book, so a run heavy player will cycle through the same handful of sets and become predictable fast.
Pistol offers only 36 plays across 4 sets, which limits a true Pistol option or zone read identity for players who want that as their base.
Goal Line Offense (12 plays) and Wildcat (3 plays) are thin, so defenders who see those formations can narrow down the call quickly, especially in the red zone.
The concept list leans toward short and intermediate routes (Slant, Hitch, Spot, Flat, Drag), so without disciplined Post and Play Action calls, a patient defense can squat underneath and force long, slow drives.

Usage Tips

Build your base audible package around Shotgun 11 personnel sets on 1st and 10 and 2nd and medium, keeping a Cover 3 Beater, a Spot or Hitch quick game call, and a Drag or Crosser man beater ready so you can check to the right answer after reading the shell.

On 3rd and short or 4th and 1, go under center into Strong I or I Form with 26 Duo or FB Dive, then flip to Play Action with a Block and Release tag from the same set once the defense starts crashing the box.

Save the Wildcat set for goal line and short yardage snaps where the defense is already in heavy personnel, and use it sparingly so the three plays stay unscouted.

In the red zone, alternate Goal Line Offense and 23 personnel looks with Shotgun Slant and Flat concepts to stress defenders who sub heavy against your formation change.

Use motion out of Singleback and Pistol on 2nd and long to identify man or zone pre snap, then hot route a Slant or Drag against man, or stay with the Post and Crosser combo against zone.
