PA All Go from Singleback Ace 12 personnel sells the play fake before sending all three receiving eligibles vertical, with the two outside receivers and one inline TE releasing on go routes up the numbers and hashes while the second TE runs a shallow drag underneath as the checkdown against the blitz. The blocking scheme is play-action protection with the fullback or extra TE staying in to pick up edge pressure while the offensive line sells run action. This is a man beater designed to isolate cornerbacks deep on the outside go routes, with the primary read progression starting outside on the boundary go, moving to the seam go from the TE, and coming back down to the drag if the safeties stay deep and the underneath route breaks open.
Defensive Reads
Pre-snap, identify press man corners with no deep safety help, which is the ideal trigger to take a shot on the outside go route before the corner can get a jam rerouting the release. Watch linebacker depth at the snap: if they step up hard on the play fake, the shallow drag will be wide open behind them for an easy checkdown. Cover 2 shells with safeties sitting deep and flat corners squeeze the go routes on the outside, so expect the underneath drag to be your best answer against that shell. Cover 3 with a deep half safety cheating over the top will bracket one of the vertical routes, so key which safety rotates late and throw away from his help. Man blitzes with a lurking linebacker spying the drag will take away the checkdown, so be ready to climb the pocket and give a go route extra time to uncover deep if the protection holds.
Usage Tips
Call this on early downs like first or second and medium when defenses are still respecting the run fake, since the play action window is tightest late in drives when defenses sit on pass. Check the safety alignment pre-snap: two high safeties usually mean stay patient and work the underneath drag, while one high or an empty box invites you to take a shot on the go routes immediately. Use your hot route to convert the drag into a deeper crossing route if you are facing zone heavy coverage, since the shallow drag alone will get eaten by underneath zone defenders. Pair this shot play with HB Dive or Inside Zone earlier in a drive so linebackers start creeping up and bite harder on the play fake. If the defense starts jumping the drag route after seeing it once, sequence into PA Post Dig or PA Flood from the same formation to attack the same look with a different read.
