Defensive Reads

Usage Tips

Use pre-snap motion or a hard count to bait linebackers into showing man or zone before the snap so you know whether the crosser or the dig will be your first look.

Against man coverage, trust the TE crosser early since the natural pick action from the formation traffic creates instant separation versus man defenders trailing across the field.

Against zone shells like Cover 3 or Cover 4, hold the ball a beat longer and let the dig route sit down in the void behind the linebackers for a bigger chunk gain.

Pair this play with PA Post Dig or PA Post Cross Shot in the same set to keep defenders guessing between the play-action shot plays and this quicker dropback crosser.
