Look for the crossers to sit down in the void against zone coverage, especially Cover 4 where the underneath defenders have to widen for the flat route and open up throwing lanes for the drag and dig.

Use the flat route as your hot route answer versus man pressure or nano blitzes since it releases quickly and gives the quarterback an outlet before the crossers develop.

Motion the wing tight end pre-snap to identify man versus zone based on whether a defender follows across the formation.

Pair this play with PA Dig or Mesh Spot in your sequencing since both share crossing action but attack different levels, keeping linebackers honest on their run fits and flow.

Best called on second and medium to third and long where the dig route has enough field to sit down beyond the sticks for a reliable conversion.
