Usage Tips

Use this play on early downs or second and medium when defenses are more likely to sit in base coverage and respect the run action, since the play-action fake needs linebackers to step up for the wheel and drag to fully open up.

Check safety depth before the snap, if you see two high safeties holding steady it usually signals zone, so prioritize the drag route as your first read since it will settle into the soft spot behind linebackers and in front of deep zone defenders.

If the corner over the wheel route TE is playing tight man coverage with no safety help over the top, snap to the wheel route immediately after the play fake since this is the built in man beater against aggressive corners.
