The HB releases out of the backfield on a swing route to the left flat while the outside receiver on that side runs a shallow crosser underneath, and the backside receiver runs a deep dig from the numbers toward the middle of the field to hold safety help. This is a man beater designed to exploit linebackers who cannot match the HB's burst in space, and the primary read progression starts with the HB swing before working to the shallow cross and finally the deep dig if the flat is taken away.

Use pre-snap motion or shifts to identify if the defense is playing man versus zone before the snap, since the swing route timing depends heavily on beating man leverage

Hot route the shallow cross into a quick out if you see a linebacker sitting underneath in zone to prevent a jump throw

This play works best on early downs or third and short since it is designed for a high percentage completion rather than an explosive gain
