Overview

Redskins Offense and its sibling cut NFL Live Redskins Offense are functionally the same book. All 631 plays overlap and the two differ by zero sets, so there is no hidden formation, no extra package, and no strategic reason to prefer one label over the other. If you have already built an audible package in one, you can switch to the other and keep every call. Treat the choice as cosmetic and spend your prep time on the formation weighting instead.

What matters here is scale. At 631 plays across 6 formations and 43 sets, this is a larger offensive book than 98% of the game's 64 team playbooks, and the depth is concentrated where it counts: 382 Shotgun plays spread over 23 sets, which is 61% of everything in the book. That is the widest Shotgun set count you will find, and it means you can run the same concept family from a dozen different alignments without ever showing the defense the same picture twice. Singleback adds 141 plays across 10 sets (22%) for your true early down run game and play action off it, and Pistol contributes 66 plays across 5 sets (10%) as the middle ground where run and pass look identical pre-snap.

The concept list tells you the game plan: Play Action, Power, Power Run, Counter, Toss, Dive on the ground, and Flat, Spot, Cover 3 Beater, Motion on the pass side. Personnel ranges from 10 and 01 spread groupings up through 22, 23, 30 and 13 heavy sets, so you can open in four wide, sub into three tight end personnel, and keep calling from the same book. I Form is a thin 27 plays across 2 sets with calls like FB Dive, and Goal Line Offense is a single set of 12 plays, so the heavy short yardage menu is narrow by design. This is a shotgun-first, motion-heavy playbook that wins by volume of looks rather than by one unstoppable formation.

Scheme Fit

This book wants a quarterback comfortable working from depth with accuracy on the move, since the Play Action and Cover 3 Beater concepts out of 382 Shotgun plays carry the offense. A back with receiving ability matters more than a pure power runner because so much of the ground work comes from spread personnel, though the 22, 23 and 13 groupings reward at least one blocking tight end and a fullback who can finish an FB Dive. Pick Redskins Offense if you enjoy running a wide Shotgun tree with heavy motion and pre-snap reads, and if you are willing to build a disciplined audible package rather than scroll through 631 plays play by play.

Strengths

  • Twenty three Shotgun sets holding 382 plays gives you more pre-snap disguise than any tighter book can manufacture: you can run Power, Counter and Toss out of spread personnel and then hit Play Action off the exact same alignment two plays later.
  • The Motion and Flat concepts pair with that Shotgun volume to let you motion a receiver across, read the defender's reaction, and confirm man or zone before the snap without burning a timeout or an audible.
  • Singleback's 141 plays across 10 sets is a full standalone run game on its own, so you can build a second audible package that never touches Shotgun and force your opponent to prepare for two different offenses.
  • Pistol's 66 plays across 5 sets erase the run pass tell that Shotgun sometimes gives away, and Cover 3 Beater concepts from Pistol depth punish defenses that drop into a single high shell expecting a handoff.
  • Ten personnel groups from 01 and 10 up to 23, 30 and 13 mean formation subs and package audibles let you get a receiving back or an extra blocker on the field without ever leaving the playbook's core concepts.

Weaknesses

  • At 61% Shotgun, a scouting opponent will play the pass first by default and dare you into the ground game, and there is no under center volume deep enough to fully punish that.
  • I Form is only 27 plays across 2 sets, so your under center power run menu is shallow. Calls like FB Dive are there, but opponents who stuff the A gaps take away a large share of what I Form offers you.
  • Goal Line Offense is a single set of 12 plays. Inside the five yard line your playbook is predictable, and a user who learns those twelve calls can sit on Dive and Power Run.
  • The 631 play size is a liability if you do not trim it. Six formations, 43 sets and dozens of near identical Shotgun looks means slow play calling and menu diving unless you commit to a small audible package early.
  • Hail Mary is 3 plays across 2 sets, so the true desperation package is thin and your end of half two minute work has to come out of Shotgun instead.

Usage Tips

Build your primary audible package entirely out of three or four of the 23 Shotgun sets and live there on first and second down, using Motion and Flat concepts to read coverage before the snap.

Reach for Singleback on second and short to second and six. Those 141 plays are where Power Run, Counter and Toss have the cleanest blocking angles, and the Play Action shots off that look sell hardest.

Use Pistol on third and three to third and six. Five sets is not many, but the disguise between run and pass at that depth is the reason to keep Pistol in a slot in your audible wheel.

Save I Form and its FB Dive family for third and one, fourth and one, and clock killing. With only 2 sets you cannot use it as a base, so use it as a hammer.

On the goal line, alternate the Goal Line Offense set with a heavy Shotgun formation sub using 13 or 23 personnel so your opponent cannot memorize the twelve play menu.
