Look for user controlled defenders sitting in a shallow zone or lurking underneath the slants, that is the biggest threat to the quick game and you should reset to the drag route on the opposite side. Against zone blitzes with a hot rush off the edge, the drag route becomes your emergency valve since it clears fast and gives the quarterback a quick out before pressure arrives.

Usage Tips

Presnap identify if the defense shows man coverage with tight press alignment on the outside receivers, since the double slant combo will beat inside leverage almost immediately.

Use the drag route on the left as your built in answer against blitz looks, it clears underneath in under two seconds and bails you out versus nano blitzes.

If you see two high safeties sitting deep, trust the vertical seams to hold the safeties and rifle the ball into the slant window before the underneath defender can flow over.

Pair this play with Y Stick Dig or Mesh Spot from the same set to keep the defense guessing between quick game and intermediate combos, forcing linebackers to respect both the flat and the middle of the field.

Best called on early downs or third and short since the throws are quick and high percentage, letting you stay ahead of the chains without exposing the quarterback to a long developing rollout.
