Strong I Pro is the two receiver, offset fullback version of the formation, and it is the most balanced set in the family. The fullback sits to the strong side behind the tackle rather than directly in the QB's shadow, the tight end attaches to the strong side, and both wideouts split wide with an X isolated on the weak side. That alignment matters in Madden because it gives you a true single receiver look away from the strength of the formation, which is exactly what the alert plays in this set are built around: Power O Alert X Smoke, HB Blast Alert X Smoke, HB Cntr Wk Alert Z Smoke, and HB Stretch Alert X Lookie all let you read the corner pre-snap and throw the free access smoke or lookie route if the defense rotates safeties into the box.
Where other Strong I sets lean heavily one direction, Pro keeps the run game genuinely two-way. You get strong side downhill concepts (HB Blast, HB Iso, FB Dive, FB Middle, Power O) plus weak side gap and outside runs (Counter Weak, HB Cntr Wk, Mtn HB Stretch, Mtn Inside Zone Split, HB Toss Mtn, HB Stretch). Because 21 personnel pulls linebackers and often a base defense onto the field, your slot-capable tight end and the isolated X are frequently matched against a nickel corner who is not on the field or a linebacker who cannot run with them. That is the matchup advantage: force base personnel, then attack it vertically.
The passing tree is deep for a heavy set. Mesh, Spacing, Curls, Slants, Stick, and FL Drive give you West Coast quick game and rub concepts, while Go's, DBL Pump n Go's, X Post, Y-Post, and Z Spot punish single high looks. The play action package is the real weapon: PA Scissors, PA Slide, Mtn PA Slide, PA F-Corner, PA WR In, PA Power O, PA Pound Draw Pass, and PA FB Fake all sell the same heavy run action you have been showing, and the FB Screen, HB Slip Screen, and HB Lead Draw punish over-aggressive edge pressure. The Gadget tag shows up in the pump concepts and alert plays, giving you a few plays opponents rarely rep against.
Use the alert plays as your pre-snap decision tree in short yardage. If the safety rotates down and the isolated corner plays soft, take the smoke. If the corner presses, hand it off and let the numbers advantage inside carry the run.
Establish HB Blast and HB Iso early, then live off PA Scissors, PA F-Corner, and PA WR In in the second half. Play action out of 21 personnel is only lethal after your opponent has seen you commit to the downhill run.
Against man coverage, go straight to Mesh, Stick, and Spacing. Hot route the fullback to a flat or curl for a guaranteed checkdown and let the crossers rub the man defenders off.
Against zone, use Curls and Z Spot to sit routes in the voids, and hot route the tight end on a drag or sit to attack the vacated hook window when linebackers carry the run fake.
When you read pressure pre-snap, motion or hot route block the fullback to the pressure side and check to FB Screen or HB Slip Screen. Two backs give you protection options no spread set can match.
On third and long, do not force the heavy look. Audible out of Pro unless you specifically want the mismatch of a linebacker covering your tight end on Y-Post or FL Drive.
