H Slot takes the traditional Strong I look and pulls the fullback out of the backfield stack, flexing him into the slot on the strong side while the halfback stays alone behind the quarterback. You keep 21 personnel on the field, so the defense still reads two backs and answers with base 4-3 or nickel at worst, but your alignment now shows three receiving threats to one side. That mismatch is the entire point of the set: the fullback in the slot draws a linebacker or safety in man coverage, and the tight end attached inline still holds the edge for the run game.
Check the defender over the flexed fullback pre snap: if it is a linebacker with no safety help, hot route him on a slant or angle and throw it before the second read.
Run HB Dive and HB Stretch on early downs to pull the linebackers up, then hit PA Post Shot on second and short or third and short when the safeties bite.
Use Dagger on third and 8 to 12 against Cover 3 and read the dig first, since the outside vertical is the clear out, not the primary.
Against heavy inside blitz looks, block the halfback or check to Counter Weak and let the pulling guard run into the vacated gap.
PA FB Flat is your answer when a user is spying the middle of the field, and it gets the ball out fast enough to beat a nano blitz.
