Hot route the running back into a wider flat release if you see man coverage from a linebacker so you have a built in checkdown against a blitz. Pair this play with Doubles Shot or Wheel Spot in your play calling sequence so the defense cannot key on the scissors action every snap. Against Cover 4 or quarters shells, throw the dig on the backside quickly before the underneath defenders can sink and take away the crossing window.
