Playbooks
Chiefs Offense and its sibling cut, NFL Live Chiefs Offense, are effectively the same book. They share all 583 of this playbook's plays and differ by zero sets, so there is no hidden formation, no extra set and no unique concept waiting in one version that the other lacks. Pick whichever one your menu surfaces first and spend your time on the audible package instead of hunting for a difference that does not exist.
What you are getting is a 583 play offensive book built almost entirely out of Shotgun. 442 plays (76%) live there across 27 sets, which is the widest spread of any single formation family in this playbook by a massive margin. Singleback backs it up with 87 plays (15%) across 7 sets, and everything after that is a rounding error: Pistol at 18 plays (3%) in 2 sets, Goal Line Offense at 12 plays in a single set, Strong I at 12 plays across 2 sets, I Form at 9 plays in 1 set, and Hail Mary at 3 plays across 2 sets. The concept sheet reads the way the formation spread suggests, with Pass Play and Play Action leading into Spot, Flat, Motion and Cover 3 Beater, and the run game arriving as Power, Power Run, Counter, Toss and Dive rather than as a heavy ground identity.
Personnel runs from 11 (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) through 12, 13, 21, 22 and even 23 (2 RB, 3 TE, 0 WR), but the heavy groupings are attached to the small formation families, so most of your snaps will be spread personnel out of Shotgun. The game plan this supports is a pass first, tempo offense: live in Shotgun on every neutral down, use the 27 sets to disguise the same route combos from different alignments, and drop into Singleback for Counter Y-Lead and Power looks when you need a run that does not tip itself. Strong I, I Form and Goal Line Offense exist purely as short yardage and red zone change ups, with FB Dive as the go to inside the five and Goal Post out of Hail Mary for end of half desperation.
This playbook wants a quarterback with a fast release and enough accuracy to work Spot and Flat concepts from Shotgun on volume, plus at least enough mobility to survive the scramble drill when your 76% Shotgun lean invites nano blitz pressure. Around him you need a receiving back who can release out of 11 personnel, two or three route runners with separation speed for the Cover 3 Beater calls, and a tight end who can block well enough to make the Singleback Counter Y-Lead and Power calls honest. Pick Chiefs Offense if you are a pass first player who wants to win pre-snap with motions and hot routes inside one formation family; skip it if you want a true under center run identity, because 9 I Form plays and 12 Strong I plays will not carry a ground game.
Search every playbook by tag and personnel grouping, not just Chiefs Offense.
Build your primary audible package entirely out of Shotgun. With 27 sets available, pick one 3x1 set, one 2x2 set and one bunch or compressed set, and use pre-snap motions and hot routes to change the concept rather than changing formations on first and second down.
On second and medium and third and seven plus, stay in Shotgun and reach for the Spot, Flat and Cover 3 Beater concepts. DBL Outs is your high and low answer against soft zone when the defense drops eight and dares you to throw short.
Use Singleback as your run audible on first and ten and second and short. Counter Y-Lead and the Power Run concepts out of the 7 Singleback sets sell the same alignment as your pass looks, which is exactly what the 76% Shotgun lean makes hard for defenses to distinguish.
Save Strong I and I Form for third and one, fourth and one and clock killing drives with a lead. With only 21 combined plays across 3 sets, do not burn them early or your opponent will have them scouted before the red zone.
Inside the five, check into Goal Line Offense and run FB Dive, but mix in the 23 (2 RB, 3 TE, 0 WR) heavy looks with formation subs so the same personnel can block or release. Keep Goal Post in Hail Mary reserved strictly for end of half and end of game.
