Check safety alignment before the snap: single high safety means the Go route has a one-on-one shot deep, so lean toward that throw immediately off the play-action fake.

Against two-high shells, prioritize the deep crosser since it works away from the safety and exploits the seam vacated by an over-aggressive linebacker.

Use hot routes to convert the TE's corner route into a quick out or flat route if you diagnose a Cover 2 or Cover 4 shell that squeezes the deep sideline.
