Defensive Reads

Check for press man corners on the bunch receivers pre snap, since tight coverage there signals the corner and post combo will have natural rub help. Watch the deep safety rotation after the snap, if the safety to the field cheats toward the corner route, work the post underneath him immediately. Identify if a linebacker or nickel is spying the flat to the HB side, since that defender tips whether the checkdown will be available against blitz packages. Beware of Cover 6 or quarters shells where corners sink with the corner route and safeties rob the post, this combination can shut down both top reads and force you to the shallow out.
