Singleback Wing Stack is the 12 personnel gadget hub of the formation, and it plays nothing like Singleback Wing Trio or the standard Doubles looks. You get one back next to the QB, a tight end wing tucked outside the tackle, and a stacked receiver pair to the opposite side. That stack alignment is the entire point: press man coverage cannot get clean hands on either stacked receiver, and zone defenders have to sort who carries the vertical while the wing side gives you an extra body for gap runs and jet motion. Because the wing is a tight end and not a slot receiver, the box count stays honest and most opponents answer with nickel or base 3-4 instead of dime, which is exactly the personnel mismatch you want.
The play art leans heavily on play action and jet motion, which is where the Gadget tag comes from. PA Jet Sweep, PA Jet Sweep (1), Zone Fake Jet, and PA Fork all use pre-snap movement to force linebackers and the flat defender to declare, then attack behind them. Pair that with a real run game (HB Power O, HB Stretch, HB Zone Wk, HB Belly Weak, HB Dive) and the play action shots are actually credible instead of window dressing. PA Double In Shot and PA Dig are your shot plays off the same run mesh, and PA Power O is a nasty tell breaker once you have established the gap scheme.
In the pass game, the stack isolates your best receiver against whoever is aligned inside. Double Corner and Fade Out attack Cover 2 and quarters over the top, KC Smash and Y Stick are your quick answers versus soft zone, and Levels, Curl Post Drag, and Flanker Spot give you layered man beaters with built-in rub action off the stack. The wing tight end releasing into the flat or up the seam gives you a free matchup against a linebacker on almost every dropback, which is the cleanest way to punish opponents who refuse to bring in a third safety.
Use jet motion pre-snap to identify coverage: if a defender travels with the jet man it is man, if the shell stays put you can attack the void with Levels or KC Smash.
On second and medium, run PA Power O or PA Jet Sweep after you have shown HB Power O twice, because the linebackers will trigger downhill and the dig and in routes open behind them.
Against Cover 2 and quarters, call Double Corner and hot route the wing tight end to a drag to occupy the hook defender before the corner routes break.
Versus heavy inside pressure, motion the stacked slot into a blocking alignment or hot route him to a slant so you have a one step answer at the numbers.
Short yardage and goal line are fine here: HB Dive, HB Belly Weak, and Y Stick all work from the same look, and the wing side gives you an extra gap blocker without switching personnel.
