PA Boot Flow is a play-action bootleg out of the I Form Wing 22 personnel that pulls the offensive line flow one direction while the QB rolls out to the opposite edge. The diagram shows three routes flowing to the boot side: a deep corner/flag route breaking outside, a crossing dig sitting underneath at intermediate depth, and a flat route dragging all the way across the field, with a fourth receiver running a deep comeback away from the boot on the backside. The primary read progression starts with the deep corner route on the boot side, works down to the crossing dig if the corner is capped, and checks the flat route as the outlet if the pocket collapses or the underneath defenders sink deep.
Defensive Reads
Key the flow of the offensive linemen at the snap, since aggressive linebacker run fits toward the fake will be badly out of position against the boot flow. Identify single-high versus two-high safety shells before the snap, as single-high leaves the deep corner route vulnerable to explosive gains. Post-snap, track any user-controlled defender spying the QB on the boot side, since a disciplined spy can jump the flat route or force a hurried throw. Watch for zone defenders sinking too deep on the crossing dig, which opens a soft window for the QB to hit the flat route for a shorter but safer gain. Man coverage on the backside comeback is exploitable if that defender bites on the run fake, so track whether the corner opens his hips toward the box.

Use this from run-heavy personnel like I Form Wing to sell the play-action fake and freeze linebackers who are keying run flow.
Best called on early downs (first or second and short to medium) when defenses are playing up to stop the run.
Watch pre-snap for single-high safety looks since the run fake holds the safety longer, opening the deep corner route on the boot side.
If the defense shows two-high shell, prioritize the crossing dig and flat combo since the corner route will be capped by the deep safety.
Pair this with HB Lead, HB Power O, or HB Sweep earlier in a series to condition the defense to bite on run flow before dialing up this boot action.
Hot route the backside comeback into a deeper post if you diagnose man coverage, since the boot action pulls defenders away from that side.
