This play struggles against disciplined zone drops with deep half safeties who can close on the corner routes, so avoid forcing throws to the outside against a two deep shell.

Usage Tips

Motion the option route receiver before the snap to get a clean pre-snap look at man versus zone coverage based on whether the defender follows.

If you see man coverage, trust the option route to break away from the defender's leverage and get an easy completion underneath for positive yards.

Against zone coverage, work the dig route as your primary target since it settles into the soft spot behind linebackers and in front of deep zone defenders.

Use this play on second and medium or third and short since the option route gives you a built in answer against both blitzes and coverage drops.
