Read the flat defender pre-snap: if he is sitting at five yards or closer, the stick route underneath will be tight, so lean toward the out as your first read instead.

Against man coverage, hot route the backside receiver into a slant or drag to create a natural pick and separation window versus press corners.

Pair this play with Stick and Stick Switch in your play-calling sequence so the defense cannot key on flat defender leverage, since all three stress the same underneath zones with different iso reads.

Snap the ball quickly against Cover 3 or Cover 4 shells since the stick's shallow routes settle into the soft spots before linebackers can sink and wall off throwing lanes.

Avoid this call versus heavy blitz looks unless you have a hot route ready, since the quick game needs the pocket to hold for at least a full second and a half.
