Usage Tips

Use this play on second and long or third and medium when you need to move the sticks with a defined dig read against zone coverage

Check the safety alignment before the snap, if you see a single high shell the fork route stresses the deep middle and opens up the dig underneath it

Against man coverage, use the dig route as your primary hot route target since it works away from trailing corners and forces linebackers to run with tight ends across the field

Pair this play with Fk Cheat HB Stretch or Fk Cheat Outside Zone from the same set to keep defenses honest on early downs before hitting them with the dig on a passing down

If the defense shows two high safeties, key the flat defender first since the HB checkdown and slot pivot occupy that space, then work the quarterback's eyes back to the dig sitting behind the linebackers
