Mtn Fork Y-Corner is a bunch based pass concept out of Shotgun Bunch TE with a receiver motion across the formation before the snap. At the snap the two inside bunch receivers run a fork concept with one route breaking flat underneath while the other stems vertically before cutting outside, the Y (TE) runs the signature corner route breaking to the sideline off the top of the stack, and the backside slot receiver runs a deep vertical to stretch the defense horizontally and vertically. The lone running back releases to the flat on the strong side, giving the quarterback a five man route distribution that attacks zone defenders in the seams and stresses man defenders on the corner breaking route, with the primary read starting on the Y-TE corner route and working down to the flat and swing routes underneath.

Watch the corner or nickel aligned over the bunch pre-snap, if he widens with the motion man it signals man coverage and opens the corner route for the Y Key the free safety depth at the snap, a hard rotation toward the trips side means Cover 3 or Cover 6 and the quarterback should work the flat and swing routes instead of forcing the corner Look for a linebacker sinking under the fork concept, this indicates a zone drop that can be exploited by the vertical route stretching the deep defender out of the throwing lane Blitz packages that send extra rushers off the edge are countered by the running back releasing to the flat, so check protection assignments before the snap if facing an aggressive front Cover 2 shells with two deep safeties are the toughest matchup for the corner route, so be ready to check down to the underneath fork route instead of forcing the ball outside
