RPO Bubble Y Pop is a run pass option out of Shotgun Y Off Trips 11 personnel that gives the quarterback a pre snap and post snap decision built off an inside zone look. The backside X runs a vertical seam while the trips side gives a bubble screen underneath and a TE pop route sitting behind the linebackers over the ball. The QB reads the box count and second level defenders: if the defense stays light in the box or a linebacker widens to the bubble, the QB hands off or throws the bubble, and if the underneath defender sits on the bubble the Y pop becomes the answer against zone or man coverage that vacates the middle.

Use this on early downs in normal or nickel personnel to stay balanced and keep the defense honest against both run and pass

Pair this with RPO Read Y Flat or RPO Glance Post from the same set so defenders cannot key on one specific route combo

Against man coverage look to the vertical seam from the X receiver if the linebacker chases the pop route and loses inside leverage

Hot route the bubble receiver deeper if you see a corner sitting at five yards to create more room after the catch
