Pitt Z Streak is a trips-side vertical shot play out of Shotgun Trips HB Wk. The backside X runs a lone streak up the sideline as the hot man beater outlet, while the trips side stacks a Z streak up the seam, a shallow crosser cutting under the streak from the far outside receiver, and a HB flare out of the backfield for a checkdown against blitz. The primary read starts with the Z streak up top, works down to the crossing route settling in the void behind linebackers, and ends at the HB flare as the safety valve.

Defensive Reads

Pair this with Trips Cross or Mtn Slot Cross in your play calling sequence so defenders start jumping the shallow crossers, opening the Z streak for the deep shot

Best called on 2nd or 3rd and long, or in shot situations after a run play has softened the linebacker depth
