60 Go out of Shotgun Trips HB Wk lines up three receivers to one side with the HB to the weak side, and the diagram shows a vertical stretch concept designed to attack single high and press man coverage. The backside receiver runs a straight go route up the sideline while the inner trips receiver climbs vertically with a slight inside release, and the outside trips receiver runs a shallow out/flat route to hold the corner and flatten the underneath defender. The middle trips receiver shows a red option/hot route arrow indicating a quick inside adjustment, likely a slant or seam to attack a blitzing linebacker or vacated middle zone. Primary read progression starts with the backside go route on a one-on-one against man coverage, moves to the trips-side vertical seam if the safety rotates away, and checks down to the flat route or hot route option if the coverage sits deep.
Pre-snap, identify if the defense is showing two deep safeties or a single high shell, since 60 Go is most effective against one high looks with man coverage underneath. Watch cornerback depth on the backside receiver, if he is playing off coverage with a deep cushion the go route loses its window and you should progress to the trips side. Post-snap, key the middle linebacker's drop, if he sinks into the seam quickly it can take away the inside vertical route and force a checkdown to the flat. Look for user-controlled safeties rotating over the top of the backside go route, a disciplined deep safety in Cover 2 or Cover 4 shells can shut down the outside vertical shot. Zone blitzes with a robber underneath can jump the hot route slant, so if you see linebackers crashing downhill pre-snap be ready to reset to the go route instead.
Check pre-snap for single high safety alignment since this play is built to win one-on-one go routes against man coverage on the backside.
Use the hot route on the inside trips receiver to convert to a slant or drag if you see linebackers walked up showing blitz, giving you a quick answer against pressure.
Save this play for third and long or two minute drill situations where you need an explosive play down the field against a defense playing single high or man coverage.
Pair 60 Go with Mesh Spot or Quick Slants earlier in a drive to condition the defense to expect short routes, then hit the go route once you see cornerbacks jumping underneath routes.
Watch the flat route defender after the snap, if he widens too far with the outside receiver's out route it opens a throwing lane for the seam route behind him.
