10 personnel puts one halfback and four wide receivers on the field with zero tight ends, creating the most spread-out passing identity in the game outside of empty. The four-receiver look forces defenses into dime or a light nickel with a third and fourth corner on the field, which strips run-stopping weight out of the box and gives you clean pre-snap reads on whether you are facing man or zone. Because most defensive AI personnel logic reacts to receiver count, you can force undersized coverage defenders onto the field and then run out of light boxes, or isolate your fourth receiver against a backup corner or a slow-footed safety on a mismatch route.
