Shock HB Angle comes out of Trey Y-Flex Shotgun with a bunched trips look to the right and a single receiver to the left. Off the snap the trips side runs a switch vertical concept, with the inside receiver climbing the seam and breaking outside while the outside receiver clears deep down the sideline, and the single receiver on the left runs an out and up to stretch the cornerback vertically. The HB releases on an angle route out of the backfield as the checkdown against blitz or man coverage, while the QB gets a straight dropback read. This is a man beater built around the HB angle route creating natural separation against linebackers, with the primary read progression starting on the trips side seam-to-corner combo before working down to the HB angle as the safety valve.

Defensive Reads

Read the strong safety alignment pre-snap since a safety shaded over the trips bunch signals zone coverage and a rotation toward the seam route.
