PA Jet Sweep

Pre snap, check safety depth and alignment since a single high safety leaves the corner route on an island against outside leverage corners. Watch linebacker eye discipline at the snap, if they bite hard on the jet sweep flow the deep out and whip route will be wide open in the vacated underneath zone. This play struggles against a hard cover 2 shell where the corner defender has flat zone help and the safety sits over the top of the corner route, so bail if you see two deep safeties with press corners pre snap. Man coverage with a slot blitz off the edge is the counter to this play, since the play fake removes a blocker and the quarterback has less time to climb the pocket before the corner route develops. Look for a user controlled defender sitting in the shallow curl to flat area, that lurk threat can jump both the whip route and the deep out if you rush the throw.
