Doubles Stack Clamp is a 2x2 Shotgun alignment out of 11 personnel that stacks receivers on both sides while keeping the tight end tight to the formation in a clamped look. Unlike standard Shotgun Doubles sets where all four receivers are spread wide and split evenly, the stacked and clamped spacing compresses the release points, which kills press man coverage before the snap and forces defenses to either bail into zone or risk traffic collisions on their man assignments. The back is aligned next to the quarterback, giving you a true shotgun read look with a full slate of RPO tags.
The stack removes the defense's ability to jam your primary target. Because the outside receiver in the stack has a free release, you can isolate your best man beater on an island without ever worrying about a cornerback with elite press ratings disrupting the timing. That matters most on plays like Texas Y-Stutter Wheel, Portland Y Wheel, and Mtn Choice Go's Y-Shake, where the stacked alignment naturally creates a rub and the wheel or shake breaks free without any manual hot routes. The 3DRB and SLWR tags mean you are typically fielding your best receiving back and a slot specialist, so the interior route combos are being run by players with real route running and catching in traffic.
Concept variety is the real selling point. You get a full mesh and rub family (Mtn Fk Rub, Mtn Rub Smash, Mtn Shuffle Mesh Rail, Mtn Salem Drag), a complete zone beater package (Curl Ohio, Y Ohio Return, Return Bench, Flood Seam, Spot Choice), a legitimate run game with Inside Zone, HB Mid Zone, Same Side Zone, and Counter Y, plus three RPO tags in RPO Alert Out, Return RPO Zone Alert, and Mtn Flood HB Sneak. That combination lets you run the entire game plan from one shell without ever tipping pass or run by personnel or alignment.
Read the corner alignment first: press on the stack means run the rub family (Mtn Fk Rub, Mtn Rub Smash), while bail corners mean go straight to Curl Ohio or Return Bench for the underneath zone windows.
On third and medium, call Spot Choice or Mtn Shuffle Drive Choice and let the choice route sit against zone or break away from man, then user the quarterback's eyes on the middle defender before releasing.
Use Inside Zone and HB Mid Zone on early downs to build the run tendency, then flip to Return PA Z Over or PA Post Shot Choice once the linebackers start crashing the mesh point.
Hot route the outside stack receiver on a comeback or slant when you see a single high shell, since the free release plus the stack gives you a one on one with no press disruption.
Save Mtn Choice Go's Y-Shake and Portland Y Wheel for two minute situations where you need a chunk play, and motion the inside stack receiver first to identify man versus zone.
