Check safety depth pre-snap: if both safeties are deep at 10-12 yards, that signals two-high zone and the corner route will hold the deep defender while slants work underneath.

Against man coverage, key on the near side slant first since the natural rub from the TE drag will spring it open almost immediately off the snap.

Use the shallow drag as your hot route answer versus blitz looks, it clears low and fast for a quick checkdown that beats nano blitzes.

Pair this with RPO Peek Slant or RPO Read Bubble earlier in a series so the defense has to respect both the run threat and the quick slant timing, making Slants hit even faster later in the game.
