RPO Glance Bubble out of Shotgun Doubles Offset Wk gives the QB a run/pass conflict read built off the inside zone action to the HB. The backside slot runs a bubble screen while the frontside slot works a quick glance route inside, with the outside receiver on that side running a slant/comeback breaking away to occupy the corner. Defensive Reads

Check safety depth pre-snap: single high shells with the alley defender crashing down hard on run fits leave the glance route wide open behind the second level. Cover 2 or Cover 4 zone shells with disciplined corners staying outside can bait the QB into the bubble throw right into a shrinking window if the slot corner reads it fast. Man coverage on the frontside slot with inside shade takes away the glance cleanly, so scheme in a user blitz off the edge to force the quick decision before the mesh point resolves. Aggressive run blitzes up the middle remove the give option entirely, meaning the offense is forced into either bubble or glance regardless of leverage, so sitting a defender in each throwing lane neutralizes both options.

Usage Tips

Presnap, identify the alley defender (usually the flat corner or overhang linebacker) since he is the key to your entire read.

If the defense shows a two high shell with soft corners, favor the bubble since the numbers usually work in your favor with a blocker crack out on the slot corner.

Against man coverage or press alignments on the frontside slot, pull the glance since defenders taking inside leverage away from the QB open up easy separation on that in cut.

Use this play on early downs or in run/pass unclear situations to keep defenses honest, then follow up with RPO Peek Slant or RPO Alert Bubble from the same set so the defense cannot key on one specific concept.

If the defense sends extra run blitzers preventing the give read entirely, get rid of the ball fast off the glance or bubble before the line collapses, since the RPO mesh point holds the ball for a beat longer than a standard dropback.
