Check the alignment of the edge defender before the snap to predict whether the read will be a give or a keep, since a wide 9 technique almost always crashes on the run fake and opens the QB keep lane.

Use the vertical route from the TE and outside receiver to hold the safety and corner in place so the edge defender cannot get help discounting the option read.

This play works best in short to medium yardage situations like second and short or third and short because the option keep gives you an explosive alternative if the defense sells out on the dive.

Pair this call with Mtn Read Option or Buck Sweep Read Opt earlier in a drive so the defense has to respect multiple option looks from the same personnel and formation, making the edge defender hesitate on his crash read.

If the defense starts loading the box to take away the dive, switch into RPO Zone Read Bubble or RPO Peek Slant from the same set to punish light coverage on the perimeter.
