Read Option

The Read Option tag identifies every play built around a zone read mesh, where your QB reads the unblocked backside defensive end and either hands off to the back or pulls it and keeps it on the edge. It spans 168 plays across Shotgun and Pistol sets like Gadget Package, Deebo Package, Wide Slot Left and Doubles Flex Y Off Close, and it covers variants such as Read Option Wk, Counter Read Option and Buck Sweep Read Opt. Filter by this tag to build a run game that punishes crashing ends and overaggressive user-controlled linebackers, especially if you run a mobile QB and want option looks that pair with RPOs and play-action rollouts from the same formation.
