Seam F Angle out of Shotgun Normal Y Off pairs a vertical seam route from the TE with an angle route out of the backfield from the F, creating a natural high-low read against linebackers and safeties. The seam threatens the middle of the field against man and zone alike, while the angle route serves as a built-in check down that beats blitzes by leaking underneath and to the flat off any pursuing linebacker. Blocking is a standard pass protection scheme with the HB releasing on the angle route, so the primary read progression is seam first (attacking any bite by the MLB or a soft cover 3 middle third), then angle as the blitz or dump-off beater.

Use this play on early downs or third and medium when you expect man coverage or a blitz look, since the angle route to the F is one of the best answers to nano blitzes and man pressure in the game

Check the MLB depth pre snap, if he is sitting shallow or shows blitz intent, work the angle route immediately instead of waiting on the seam

Hot route the backside receiver into a quick out or slant to give yourself a third option if the safety rotates hard to the seam side

Pair this play with 45 Quick Base or RPO Peek Slant in the same set to keep the defense guessing between quick game and the seam shot, forcing linebackers to hesitate

Against zone heavy opponents, throw the seam with anticipation before the linebacker can sink into his throwing lane, since holding the ball invites a passing lane jump by a user controlled defender
