Wing Slot Offset WK is a 12 personnel Shotgun set that trades the standard spread look for a condensed, run-leaning alignment with a built in gadget element. The back offsets weak, one tight end aligns as a wing off the tackle, and the second tight end (or slot body) plays in the slot to the strong side. That gives you a two-back feel out of Shotgun without leaving 12 personnel, so the defense usually answers with base or big nickel. The WK tag matters because the offset back and wing are on the same side of the formation, which lets you build outside zone and Bounce Inside Zone Lt with a lead blocker while still threatening the field side with three eligible route runners.
What separates this set from the standard Shotgun Wing sets is the slot alignment paired with the offset back. The slot receiver gets a free release inside the numbers, so man coverage from a linebacker or big nickel safety is an instant win on Slant Stick, Mesh HB Corner, and Mtn Mesh Traffic. Meanwhile the wing tight end is a legitimate blocker on Outside Zone and Inside Zone, which keeps 12 personnel honest and stops the defense from sitting in dime. The Gadget tag means you also get misdirection concepts baked in, and Fk Slant Out gives you a fake screen action that pulls underneath zone defenders out of the throwing window.
The pass game is built around high low reads and vertical stress. PA Dagger and Mtn PA Cross use the run threat to hold linebackers, then attack the intermediate hole behind them. Double Post and Cross Corner Strike stress single high shells, while Smash, Double Smash, and Drive Whip Smash punish Cover 2 and Cover 4 with the corner and flat combination. Bounce Spot Curl and RPO Peek Post give you quick game answers when the defense brings pressure, and HB Slip Screen plus HB Draw serve as your pressure tax against heavy blitz users.
Read the box pre snap: if the defense brings a safety down to eight in the box, take Smash or Double Smash and attack the vacated deep half with the corner route rather than forcing the zone run.
Motion the slot receiver across the formation to diagnose coverage, then check into Slant Stick or Bounce Spot Curl against man and PA Dagger or Mtn PA Cross against zone.
On second and medium, run Bounce Inside Zone Lt and Outside Zone from the same look to establish the wing side run threat, then come back with Bounce PA Corner off the identical backfield action.
Use HB Slip Screen and HB Draw specifically against opponents who user blitz, and treat them as your pressure answer rather than base call plays so they stay effective late in the game.
Hot route the wing tight end to a flat or drag on Double Post and Cross Corner Strike to create a checkdown, since both concepts are deep only and leave you exposed if the coverage holds.
On third and short, RPO Peek Post lets you read the conflict defender and take the quick throw if the box crashes, which is a cleaner answer than a straight dropback against blitz heavy users.
