Your primary read starts with the HB Angle against man coverage since it wins immediately versus linebackers, then works to the Stick concept's flat-to-corner combo if the backer stays home or you see zone drops underneath.

Check the middle linebacker's depth and alignment pre-snap, if he is shaded over the HB or sitting in a shallow zone the Angle route will be tougher to clear so lean on the Stick side instead
Use this play on early downs or third and short since the quick timing routes get the ball out before pressure arrives, making it a strong answer to disguised blitzes
Hot route the backside receiver into a quick slant or drag if you diagnose zone coverage post-snap, giving you a third option away from the boundary defenders
Pair this call with Quick Slants or WR Screen earlier in a series to condition the defense to bite on quick throws, then hit them with Y Sail or Dagger Deep Curl for an explosive shot once they start jumping routes
Against Cover 3 or Cover 4 shells, prioritize the HB Angle since flowing linebackers create natural coverage voids in the middle of the field for the option route to settle into
