PA WR Leak is a play-action shot play out of Shotgun Normal Y Off Wk that sells run action before releasing the leak receiver deep down the field. Off the play fake, the leaking receiver stems outside then breaks vertically up the sideline for the big-play shot, while the two outside receivers to the left run a corner route and a hitch to hold defenders and clear space. The primary read progression starts with the leak route up the seam/sideline as the first shot option, working back to the underneath hitch as the checkdown if the deep shot is covered.
Defensive Reads
Watch for single high safety shells like Cover 3 or Cover 1, since the leak route can split the deep zone or beat man coverage over the top before help arrives. Key the linebacker depth at the snap, if they bite hard on the run fake, the seam behind them opens up for the leak route immediately. Look for user-controlled safeties sitting deep, if the safety flies to the leak route pre-throw, check down to the underneath hitch route on the same side. Cover 2 with two deep safeties can shut this down since the leak route runs into the safety's zone, so expect the quarterback to check down quickly against this shell. Watch for slot or edge blitzes off the leak receiver's side, since a fast blitz timing can beat the play-action fake before the deep route develops.

Check the safety alignment before the snap, if you see two high safeties rotate to single high after the snap, the leak route usually has a soft spot behind the linebackers.
Pair this with Fk Leak Outside Zone and Inside Zone earlier in a drive so the defense keys run action, then hit this shot play once linebackers start creeping up on run fits.
If the corner presses the leak receiver at the line, hot route the outside hitch into a quick out to beat aggressive man coverage instead of forcing the deep shot.
Combine with RPO Zone Peek and RPO Alert Bubble in the same series to keep the defense guessing between run, quick game, and the play-action shot.
