Check the safety alignment pre-snap, if you see two high safeties sitting deep the drag and wheel combo will have room to operate underneath, if you see a single high safety be ready to take the shot on the deep vertical route.

Hot route the drag route into a quicker option against a hard blitz look since the play action fake takes extra time and you need a fast release valve.

Against man coverage look immediately for the wheel route beating a linebacker or nickel defender who gets caught trailing the wing back out of the backfield.
