Pre-snap, check for a stacked box or an eighth defender creeping down, since Power O struggles against gap-sound fronts with extra bodies inside. Watch the Mike linebacker's depth and alignment. If he is sitting tight to the line expecting run, consider audibling to a play-action shot from this same set instead. Post-snap, key the backside defensive end and any user-controlled defender crashing down the line, since a disciplined end can blow up the pulling guard's angle. Use your play side WR or TE to crack down on a linebacker if the defense shows blitz, and hot route the backside receiver on a quick slant to hold the corner if you sense a run blitz coming from the edge.
