Overview

Let's be direct about the variant question first: NFL Live Falcons Offense and its sibling cut Falcons Offense share all 618 plays and differ by zero sets. This is not a trimmed or expanded version of the book, it is the same call sheet under the NFL Live label. If you already know one, you know the other, and the only reason to pick this cut is the name on the menu. There is no hidden formation, no bonus package, no set you gain or lose by switching between them.

What you actually get is one of the largest offensive team playbooks in the game, 618 plays across 8 formations and 44 sets, bigger than 92 percent of the 64 offensive team books. The weighting is aggressively modern: Shotgun carries 384 plays (62 percent) across 22 sets, which is more Shotgun sets than most books have total sets. Singleback adds 87 plays (14 percent) across 7 sets and Pistol contributes 81 plays (13 percent) across 7 sets, so between Shotgun and Pistol you are looking at 75 percent of the playbook from a depth or offset backfield. I Form (36 plays, 3 sets), Goal Line Offense (12 plays), Weak I (9 plays) and Split Backs (6 plays) round it out, plus a 3 play Hail Mary bucket across 2 sets for end of half situations.

The concept list tells you the game plan it supports: Play Action, Power and Power Run, Counter, Toss, Dive, Spot, Flat, Motion and Cover 3 Beater tags. That is a spread run game with a play action shell built on top of it, not a dropback passing book. Personnel ranges from 11 (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) all the way to 23 (2 RB, 3 TE, 0 WR) and 13 (1 RB, 3 TE, 1 WR), so you can run empty-adjacent spacing concepts and then go heavy without leaving the same call sheet. The Split Backs inclusion is genuinely rare, appearing in only 8 of the game's 236 playbooks, giving you a 6 play look most opponents have never defended. Sample calls across the book include FB Dive, 94 Will, Cross Drag, 0 1 Trap, Bench Switch and Goal Post.

Scheme Fit

This playbook wants a quarterback with real mobility and a quick release, because 75 percent of the plays come from Shotgun or Pistol and the Play Action concepts ask for rollouts and throws on the move rather than deep seven step drops. You need a back who can handle Power Run, Counter, Toss and Dive from depth plus catch out of the backfield for the Flat and Spot concepts, and at least two tight ends with solid run block and impact block ratings so the 23, 13 and 12 personnel groupings in I Form, Weak I and Goal Line Offense actually function. Pick NFL Live Falcons Offense if you are a spread-first play caller who still wants a downhill run identity and is willing to trim 618 plays and 44 sets down to a tight five set audible package.

Strengths

  • 22 Shotgun sets is the headline: 384 Shotgun plays means you can build a full audible package where every situational call lives in one formation family, so your pre-snap motions, shifts and receiver hot routes look identical from third and two to third and twelve and the defense gets no formation tell.
  • The 13 percent Pistol allocation (81 plays, 7 sets) is the real separator from spread books that are Shotgun-only. Pistol lets you keep downhill Power Run, Counter and Dive angles with a quarterback still in a passing posture, which is the run action a Shotgun-heavy opponent cannot replicate.
  • Play Action plus Power Run in the same 618 play sheet means you can pair the run concepts and the play-action rollouts off identical Shotgun and Pistol backfields, punishing users who commit a defender to the run fit.
  • Personnel swings from 11 (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) to 23 (2 RB, 3 TE, 0 WR) and 13 (1 RB, 3 TE, 1 WR), so formation subs let you put your best blocking tight ends into I Form, Weak I and Goal Line Offense without ever leaving this book.
  • Split Backs appears in only 8 of 236 playbooks. Six plays is small, but it is a look your opponent has almost certainly never user-defended, and the balanced backfield alignment hides which side the run is coming from.

Weaknesses

  • 62 percent Shotgun is a scouting gift. An opponent who has seen you twice knows to open in nickel or dime with a two-high shell and dare you to run into a light box, and 384 of your 618 plays come from that same formation family.
  • Only 51 plays total live in I Form (36), Goal Line Offense (12) and Weak I (9). If a nano blitz or interior stunt is beating your Shotgun protections, your heavy-formation answer pool is thin and predictable.
  • Split Backs is 6 plays and Hail Mary is 3. Those are novelty buckets, not real packages, so the rare-formation edge burns out fast once someone sees the handful of calls you have.
  • The concept list is Power, Power Run, Counter, Toss and Dive with Play Action on top. There is no deep menu of drop-back progression passing tagged here, so against a disciplined Cover 3 or match-zone user you are leaning on Spot, Flat and the Cover 3 Beater calls rather than true isolation route combos.
  • 44 sets across 618 plays sounds great until you try to memorize it. Oversized books like this one punish players who do not trim to four or five sets, because you will scroll past your best call on a 15 second play clock.

Usage Tips

Build your audible package almost entirely out of Shotgun. With 22 Shotgun sets available, pick three: one 11 personnel spread set for third and long, one with a tight end attached for the Power Run and Counter calls, and one bunch or tight look for the Spot and Flat concepts on third and medium.

Reserve Pistol for first and second down between the 20s. Its 7 sets and 81 plays are where Dive, Toss and Counter hit hardest, and the Pistol backfield keeps your play-action rollouts credible off the same alignment.

Go to Singleback (87 plays, 7 sets) when you need tempo. It is your cleanest no-huddle base because you can motion a receiver and flip strength without the backfield tell that Pistol and I Form give away.

Save I Form, Weak I and Goal Line Offense for short yardage and four minute drills only. FB Dive out of Goal Line Offense is a fourth and one call, not a first and ten call, and leaning on those 51 plays early tips your heavy package too soon.

Keep Split Backs as a one-time-per-game changeup on second and short or in the red zone. Six plays from a formation that exists in 8 of 236 playbooks buys you one surprise snap, so spend it when you need a chunk gain rather than showing it in the first quarter.
