Defensive Reads

Check the safety alignment before the snap, if you see a single high safety cheating toward the post side, be ready to reset your read to the shallow drag or checkdown.

Against two high shells, the post loses its window so hot route the outside receiver into a deep comeback or simply move on to another shot play in the set like PA Cross Country to punish the leverage differently.

Sell the play action fake with the run stick before releasing into your route drop, sluggish fakes let linebackers sit and squeeze the shallow crosser.

Pair this with HB Duo or Inside Zone Split earlier in a drive so defenders bite harder on the run action when you finally pull this shot play out.
