Defensive Reads

Watch the running back's alignment. If he stays in to block, your stunt has time to develop and the pressure will win. If he releases immediately, expect a quick screen or check down that beats this call. Post-snap, identify hot route conversions on the slot receiver. Slot corner in press must react fast to any quick out or speed release since he is your primary underneath defender against timing throws. This blitz gets beat by hot RPOs and screen game because the crashing linebackers vacate their run fits instantly, so key the offensive line for pulling guards or quick perimeter blocking. Usage Tips
Call this on third and medium to long when you expect the offense to sit in shotgun and hold the ball, since the line stunt needs a beat to develop.
Check pre-snap for empty backfield or max protect looks. If the offense keeps extra blockers in, consider audibling to a coverage play from this set like Cover 1 Hole Press instead.
User the crashing Sam linebacker if you want to manually time the stunt against a specific gap the offensive line is sliding toward.
