Jet PA Sprint RT is a play-action rollout out of Singleback Y Trips Close that uses jet motion across the formation to freeze linebackers before the quarterback sprints to the right edge. The trips side floods the right flat and boundary with a deep route, an intermediate breaker, and a shallow drag or flat option, giving the quarterback a clean high low read on that side while the boot action holds the defense's second level. This is a play-action sprint out concept built to attack man coverage and aggressive zone triggers by using the jet fake to open passing lanes on the rollout side, with the primary read progression going deep shot first, then breaking to the intermediate route, and finally checking down to the flat if the pocket collapses or the defense sinks.
Identify single high safety looks pre-snap since two high shells will have an extra defender ready to jump the deep route on the flood side. Watch the flow of the linebackers after the jet motion, if they crash hard toward the fake run action you have a clean throwing lane to the intermediate and flat routes. Key the boundary corner's leverage, outside technique corners get beat over the top while inside leverage corners force you to work the underneath options. Look for a user controlled defender spying the sprint out lane, if the quarterback contain defender sits home instead of biting on the run fake it signals the defense is playing this specific concept. Man coverage with a hard edge blitz is the toughest look, the rollout protection can break down quickly so be ready to throw the flat route immediately as your answer.
Use this play on early downs when you have already established jet sweep or Jet Wide Zone from this same set so linebackers respect the run fake and bite on the play-action.
Check the safety alignment pre-snap, single high shells with the corner playing outside leverage on the trips side are prime for the deep shot on the rollout.
Hot route the backside receiver into a quick out or slant if you see the defense rotating hard to the trips side, giving yourself a release valve away from the flood.
Roll the quarterback with a purpose, get depth on the sprint to buy time against edge pressure and to keep all three levels of the flood in your peripheral vision.
