Fk Power WR Screen is a wide receiver screen play built off a fake power run action to sell run blocking before releasing outside receivers into a bubble screen concept. The offensive line and fullback fake the power blocking scheme, pulling and stepping toward the box to freeze linebackers and defensive ends before receivers wall off downfield for the screen. This is a screen play designed to punish aggressive pass rushes and man coverage that jumps vertical routes, and the primary read is the play side bubble or WR screen target with blockers releasing to the second level immediately after the snap.
Check safety depth pre snap, if both safeties are shaded toward the box expecting run support this screen has room to work outside Watch linebacker flow post snap, if they crash hard toward the fake power action the screen lane opens instantly for big yardage This play struggles against zone coverage with disciplined outside linebackers who sit and read instead of biting on the run fake User controlled defenders sitting in flat zones or lurking near the screen side can jump the throw, avoid this against defenders manually spying the screen Cornerback press alignment on the play side receiver signals man coverage and a green light for this screen, off coverage with cushion means the defender can read and react faster
Call this play when you see aggressive defensive line stunts or edge pressure packages since the power fake draws rushers upfield and out of the screen lane
Use this against man coverage or blitz heavy looks where cornerbacks are playing tight press and linebackers are creeping toward the line pre snap
Snap the ball quickly with minimal pre snap motion so the fake power action looks identical to your actual Mtn Inside Zone Split or Counter Y runs from this set
Throw the screen quickly once blockers get outside, do not wait for it to fully develop against teams with disciplined zone drops that can rally
Sequence this after establishing Mtn Inside Zone Split, PA Power Y Pop, or Counter Y so linebackers start biting on run action, then punish them with this screen on second and short or third and short
