PA Y Leak is a play-action shot play out of Shotgun Deuce that disguises run action before releasing a leaking tight end vertically up the seam behind the linebacker level. The backside receiver runs a deep comeback while the frontside receiver clears out on a corner route, stretching the field horizontally to open the seam leak underneath. This is primarily a man beater, designed to exploit linebackers who bite on the run fake and lose the leaking tight end for a big play, though the flat clear-out routes also stress zone defenders who stay flat footed. The primary read progression starts with the Y leaking tight end up the seam, then works to the deep comeback route on the backside if the leak is covered.

Defensive Reads

If the defense shows heavy blitz pre-snap, hot route the leaking tight end to sit shorter or check to a quicker breaking route to beat the pressure

Pair this with Inside Zone or Bounce Outside Zone earlier in a drive to condition linebackers into run reads, then hit PA Y Leak once they start crashing downhill
